I am taking up this challenge of my dear friend, the Bishop of Austin, for the next 7 days (and hopefully, for the rest of my life, even if not on fb). Day 1 Thanksgiving Challenge. 1. I remember a poem I wrote clocking age Twenty-One and looking back to those who made my being possible by the grace of God...Looking back again, today, I thank God for my sweet mother, Marian Mofoluwake Oluleye nee Adebayo. She allowed me to take root in her womb and would not allow anything elsetamper with this planting of God in her. I have since been married; my wife had carried pregnancies; i have seen people pregnant; and i know, but for the grace of God, it could be worse than carrying a time bomb for 9 months or more. Thank you for bearing me safely...even though you are gone, i am sure you will be proud of what that little thing of over four decades ago has become. 2. In the same vein, I say a big thank you to my beloved father, a great challenger and exemplary example for me in many ways, Ezekiel Adebayo Olufemi Oluleye. Though, you have also gone to be with your Lord and to glimpse the wife of your youth again, though now just your sister (no marriage in heaven), if you choose not to allow me to be carried so as to be a member of your home, what could i have done? Countless numbers of men have told their wives, no way, we are not just ready for this, we need to do something about this... You took up the challenge of fatherhood immediately and you cared for mother, cared for the unborn me. And up until last year, some eight months before your demise, you still played a great and sacrificial role of a father in providing for me, despite been a man of my own....i can go on and on, thank God for you. 3. I want to use this last slot today to say thank God for my siblings God has blessed me with so many of you that the whole of FB page will not contain your list. I am African and it is a little difficult for me to separate cousins or some dear family friends from blood siblings, especially considering the way I was brought up. So, to all of you who consider yourself as my sibling, I am grateful to God for the role you have played in my life and of course, which you have not stopped playing till today. I love you all.
