I am thankful today for my dad. Growing up, I was a tomboy so my dad and I did almost everything together. He was the one who taught me to throw a spiral and how to play Space Invaders on the Atari (I am dating myself with that). I used to go check pigs with him and mom would get upset because she was the one that had to clean the stink off of me as she would say :) Hauling pipe, irrigation sox, and setting water and drinking right from the gate opening....those were the days. My dad and I spent long hours together in the cab of the combine during harvest. Just as any father and daughter relationship, we have had our ups and downs, but I always knew that he loved me even though I did not make it easy for him and sometimes he did not make it easy for me either. I am thankful to him for the lessons that he has taught me, the memories that we have made and the support that he has given to me throughout the years...even if he thought about sending me back ;) (inside joke)
