I am toying with the idea of donating a fiver to soccer aid. As Jo pointed out, I am irrationally mad on football...Bangor City and Liverpool football clubs have a place in my life...physically and emotionally. I argue with myself that poverty, misfortune and desperation are all easily within the compass of governments/the very wealthy...to address and offer solutions...but for reasons only known to their power pursuing selves, they prefer to invest (collectively) in hate, death and self-interest. This presents me with a difficulty...especially since the people exhorting me to part with my fiver overlap with the afore-mentioned ultra-rich. Ultimately, I have drawn the conclusion that in spite of the conduit being somewhat less than principled, the outcome (I hope) will be that another ordinary person benefits from my ordinary fiver...I have not yet texted my fiver...I shall eat my chilli first...what do you think?
