I am truly thankful and humbled by my performance at the IBJJF - TopicsExpress

I am truly thankful and humbled by my performance at the IBJJF 2014 New York Summer Open this past weekend. This was my fifth competition Ive performed at, but my first gold medal. In addition, to earn it at the biggest stage Ive ever competed at leaves me extremely emotional and speechless. Taking time off work to train and my strength/conditioning really helped, but Im only good as my training partners that consistently push me past my mental/physical limitations, and continue to believe in me even when I am quick to give up on myself. Im proud of all the accomplishments of my teammates that competed and back home that supported us. Yeah there were legendary grapplers there that I wanted to take pics with LOL, and the medal was really great YAY, but the best part was the overall experience of telling jokes, sharing stories, and connecting as a jiu-jitsu family during the trip. Next time we have do sing-a-longs in the car :).
