I am very selective with my friendships. Its just part of my personality, I guess. Friendship requires a two-way investment without selfish motives. I have always said that its difficult and takes a lot of time for others to get to know me. Ive thought that was because I tend to not trust others easily. However, after a little analysis, Ive realized Ive mis-spoken. It really just takes an opportunity for a conversation. When talking to someone, it doesnt take me long at all to recognize a kindred spirit. Once we connect, I tend to be all in. It matters to me with whom I surround myself. My friends are my influencers, confidants, encouragers, and who will call my hand when I get off track. And, they are who will receive the same investments from me. Friendships have intricate and deep effect on our lives. As time has passed, my friendships have changed. Ive kept some, lost some, gained some, and regained some. Regardless of where these people have entered my life or of how long theyve remained, all of them have impacted who I am today. For that, I am forever grateful! God has been so good to me. I simply cannot complain!
