I am writing to report a rather strange encounter I had a couple - TopicsExpress

I am writing to report a rather strange encounter I had a couple of weeks ago. My wife keeps telling me that we need to tell somebody, so I guess well start here. A young lady came to our door about 2 or 3 weeks ago and very quickly mentioned the name of some survey company that she claimed to be representing. She asked if she could ask me a few questions and I obliged. First question: Do you plan to vote on November 4? I told her that I was. She logged the information on a device. Second question: Do you need transportation? I told her no - which I would have thought would be evident by the 2 cars in my driveway. She didnt log anything. After she left, it struck me as very odd. Did anyone else have someone show up and ask these two questions? I have never had this happen. This concerns me because it would be quite easy to note addresses where people answered that they were not going to vote and then go to the polls and cast votes simply by offering up the name and address, which is available by simply doing a reverse lookup via the address. Again - does this sound fishy to anyone else, and did anyone else have a person come to their door with a survey like this? I look forward to hearing your stories and answers. It is because of things like this that I support voter ID laws. Too much is at stake to allow for potential fraud.
