I apologize first for this long post but needed to share....This afternoon while I was waiting for my grandson to pick out books and play for a while as usual I took out my phone and checked on FB..after reading a post from a former colleague Mikel Haug about having had lunch with some former students and his remark about how he loved [teaching] made me think about whether I had made such an impact on my students...after having been an AP/administrator for the last 10 years it made me wonder how that could be since I had spent most of my time being the bad guy in being the disciplinarian on campus..this of course put me in the position of being mostly hated but I took that in stride as my goal was always that my students come to an understanding that all I hoped for them was to be successful, make good choices and graduate from high school..well then my thoughts quickly drifted to when I was teaching and I wondered if my kids really obtained a love of history which was my goal..anyway I kinda felt a little down because I thought probably on all accounts whether as a teachers or as an AP..others were probably better remembered than me..well.. God stepped in and lifted me up..when I went to check out Ethans books..the young lady behind the counter called me Ms. Reyna..immediately said you were my 8th grade teacher..and I remember you loved The Beatles..[because of that].. I love The Beatles..I love their music.. Needless to say I was overwhelmed..I told her thank you and that I was glad she appreciated good music.. God is so great..I witnessed that today.. Good night everybody.. Love to all and to all God bless..
