I apologize for the delay. I will first start with what happened - TopicsExpress

I apologize for the delay. I will first start with what happened with the oncologist and urologist. I was first brought in to meet the oncologist to give permission for Carsyns kidney remains to be used for National Research. After her surgery we met her Urologist. After seeing Carsyns kidney it was determined that not one person on the NATIONAL Urology Board has ever seen a tumor like Carsyns. We have been told this is one of the strangest looking tumors ever seen. It may take some time to get exact answers. Oncology advised me that they are still leaning toward Wilms tumor but they dont want to confirm until further research. The surgery went great. They removed her left kidney and the adjacent lymph nodes (the lymph nodes were swollen but not confirmed cancerous yet). They left her adrenal gland in her (which points to other main organs are not showing infected) and all surrounding areas were clear of any touching tumors! Thank God! There were parasitic veins which are indicative of cancer in her kidney but it appears at this time it is isolated to the kidney and possibly the lymph nodes. Her scar looks awesome for an open kidney surgery. She is feeling pretty good and even lifted herself off the operating table to her bed (she got tired on waiting on them to move her). Her coloring looked better after surgery than before she went in. Her pain is completely managed through the epidural. Shes super hungry and all her vitals look great. Shes a fighter and so strong! Despite having a one of a kind tumor, Im optimistic that this will be highly researched and multiple doctors all over the country will be weighing in on my baby over the next week or two. I will say countless people stepped up to help in so many ways. Thank you to each and every one of you! I wouldnt have made it today without you all! I got all of the texts, messages, calls, etc. and told Carsyn about the overwhelming love and support being sent for us. She loves to hear how many people are praying for her and sending love. I believe the prayers are working wonders! Thank you to everyone. Im overwhelmed by the support of everyone. I will continue to update. We will be here until Monday at the earliest but quite possibly until later next week. ~Aimee
