I apologize for the negativity here, but I feel the need to vent - TopicsExpress

I apologize for the negativity here, but I feel the need to vent about the Market Basket situation. This is really, really, really frustrating. As was my understanding, up until a few weeks ago: The workers were relatively well compensated in comparison to industry counterparts. Product costs were low, customers were happy, people werent buying their produce at Walmart. The company was growing and profitable. Near as I can tell, most everyone involved was happy with how things were, relatively speaking. In short, from what I understand, the company was functional, profitable, and reasonably well behaved from a social and economic justice standpoint. But, that wasnt enough...people at the top wanted more, more, more, and now its all falling apart. Frustrating. A bunch of jack-asses at the top cant settle for having a nice chunk of the pot, they need basically all of the pot. Frustrating. Theyre willing to basically see the whole thing collapse inwards on itself, rather then try to reach some sort of reasonable agreement. Really, really, really frustrating. And this is why we (as a society) cant have nice things.
