I ask for open minds, and for theists and atheists to step out of - TopicsExpress

I ask for open minds, and for theists and atheists to step out of their boxes for just a moment. Let us consider the scenario of our own universe. For the sake of argument, lets start with the assumption that there is a god. If we then move onto the generation of the universe, we must first ask, How did it come to be? and What role did this god play in it? and then Why? The How we can study through science. Its the other two that I am concerned with for the purposes of this post. If we call the universe imperfect, yet created by a god, then we can deduce that the god in question is either flawed or cruel. If we say that this god wants or needs something from the universe it had some role in creating, it implies a lack of some sort, which in turn shows this god to be an imperfect, flawed being. If we say that this god had no hand in the creation of the universe, then where was it before, and what business does it have demanding anything from the universe? Any thoughts?
