I ask myself every week why I continue to give Meet The Press a chance to be relevant. I feel the same despair I feel watching an Astro game. I want them to win, but I know they wont. They cant. Thats the same story with MTP. David Gregory wants to be held in the same esteem as Tim Russert. He isnt. And he cant be. Gregory personifies all that is wrong with the mainstream media. They have to dumb down the news to the intellectual level of their audience. For Gregory, dumbing things down isnt hard. For Gregory, its a virtue. But when you bring in Bill Maher as an expert, I give up. There is one thing that separates Gregory from Chris Wallace. And its about 75 IQ points.
