I asked the Communications Director for the Louisiana Democratic Party why they werent even talking about the bills in our state legislature that affect the LGBT community. She told me that there were a few posts on Twitter about the national ENDA legislation. Im glad that ENDA is the only thing that she thinks matters to us. - Our state legislature just defended anti-sodomy laws, no response. - Our state legislature just voted down a bill to extend housing protections to LGBT people, no response. Louisiana may be a conservative state but if Texas can pass one of the most progressive platforms in the country then our party can make statements that support the bills that affect our community.
