I became a #Royals fan and attended my first game at Royals - TopicsExpress

I became a #Royals fan and attended my first game at Royals Stadium in 1991, which was followed by many, many, many more nights there – with family members and friends like Tad Drescher, Tom Ford, Glen Sears and Callie Borszich, to name a few. I cheered on George Brett there as he closed in on 3,000 hits, Bob Hamelin as he led the team on a 14-game win streak before the 1994 strike shut down baseball, Frank White as his number was retired, and I got to experience an opening day in 1999 with Michael Ransdell. In recent years, Ive had the joy of taking Kati Hornickel and our daughters there. Yes, my support wavered some as the losses piled up and the best players left for greener pastures. Yes, I still have strong allegiances to the #Brewers and #Cubs. But my Kansas City roots and pride run deep, and no matter what happens tonight, I could not be more proud of this team and the ride theyve taken us on this summer. ... But seriously.
