I became attached to this home because I felt part of it, like the bricks and mortar used to build it. -Catalina Pardo in chasing Reese. I remember when I typed this line fifteen months ago. I recall sighing loudly because it wasnt the first time Id thought that, let alone said that. A few years ago, circa 2009 I discovered the awesomeness of Google Earth. I found my childhood home in Waukesha, Wisconsin and I remember saying this exact phrase. So when I typed it, it was my subconscious reminding me of that home that I loved so much and wished wed never moved away from. I wrote this screenplay - now book - while battling depression. It was a way to escape from the crippling illness that was robbing me from happiness. Like Catalina, I cope with PTSD, brought on by a life of violence. My life isnt perfect and it never will be, but this book helped me heal to an extent. There are good days and then there are bad days. I pray in the future, those bad days lessen. Why I say all of this? I want you to get to know me, my quirks, and what inspired this story. There is a piece of my personality embedded in each character. Catalina has my strengths, fears, and sass. Stryder shares my moral values and philosophy of life and Jackson, well, youll find out soon enough. 😉 T-14 sleeps until chasing Reese goes live on Amazon.
