I been thinking recently, and although my horses are all suitable for novices and competent novices unless stated there are several factors potential purchasers need to think through before trying a horse. If you are seriously thinking of purchasing a horse after a break especially, do not make the horse you are trying the first horse you have ridden in the last two years, although it may give you a wow factor on the day because your back on board, when trying a horse is not the time to do it, have some lessons and get back into the swing of it again, you need to feel confident to at least trot round with confidence. Be realistic horses have active thinking brains, even kickalong cobs, be prepared for the odd spook, your horse even a kickalong is looking for clear instructions, if you sit and freeze you are unlikely to get a reaction. Have a reasonably fair budget, i know the market isnt as it was but good genuine horses your not going to get for peanuts, think of the time and effort people have to put in to make them nice and kind for you to ride. If you buy from me it will be exactly as stated on the tin, i dont want my time wasted anymore than you do, but i do appreciate not everyone likes the same thing, thats fine and i love a happy outcome. Happy horse hunting everyone :)
