I believe social media is like most technological advances - it holds many promises for greater sharing of information and openness between cultures, but the masses will generally use it for mindless entertainment. Being of previous and older generations I see how FB has dumbed down daily human discourse and made many think reality exists in mindless snippets on this medium created by a highly disturbed social misfit. Philosophy of history teaches us that there is such a pattern that is called the tendency of historical fructification of good and evil. What we do now may bear fruit historical good and evil...
