I believe that this article is a fair depiction of where it stands now. I also believe that the GOP must push forward to Obamas desk those bills that are supported by the MAJORITY of voters .. not those that are supported ONLY by the majority of those on the Far Right. Last night, Bill OReilly was patronizing Gov. Huckabee. He said that since Huckabee had 11% support among voters for a 2016 run that he should consider it. Huckabee is no fool and he knows that he cannot be elected so he came back with a comical reply of something like he wondered what was wrong with the other 89% of voters. The problem this brings to my mind is that all of the hopefuls are not as smart as Huckabee .. folks like Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, Marco Rubio, and so on. Because he is a preacher, Huckabee has no chance of becoming President but he has a better chance than these folks do. Still, division in the GOP is a major problem .. and the fact that we consistently have GOP Primaries is another problem. We spend Billions to allow these folks to stand up and insult and undermine each other. Most of them would be doing it for show, Cruz being an exception .. he would be serious. But the public does not know that it is a show. And if the GOP does select a Champion will they select one that is a Champion for ALL the voters .. or just for the Republicans? I see people on my own wall saying things like, We need to select the most Extreme Conservative we can find. When I see such comments I know that that person has no real understanding of the system for electing presidents .. but then maybe they do .. and they are a Closet Democrat. ;-) We have a hard row to hoe during the next two years. Holding on to the Senate will be a real challenge if we dont get damn near everything right during this period. If we do well there then we must hope to choose the most Conservative Candidate WHO CAN WIN in a National General Election. This person should be a successful Governor .. there are many to choose from .. John Kasich, Scott Walker, Jeb Bush, Chris Christy, Nikki Haley, Bobby Jindal, Susana Martinez, and Rick Perry. All of these people are proven Leaders and Managers .. they have served as mini-presidents already and they have done so in a successful manner. Any of them would make a fine VP candidate .. as would one Junior Senator .. a Black man who is an outstanding performer .. Tim Scott.
