I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. Romans 12:1 We are going to face opposition for our Christian faith, but oftentimes the most likely offenses we face our the natural ones that occur through normal social interaction. When we find that a family member is angry at us for no reason, or we are being unfairly treated at our place of employment, our natural response is to be angry and to seek justice. But as a Christian we are required to demonstrate our faith in Christ by laying down on the altar of sacrifice, giving up our own will and not seeking harm on others or justification for ourselves. If we are to face persecution on a grand scale someday, we need to start preparing by forgiving others that are mistreating us today.
