The Bible reading plan I have adopted this year is organized by genre. Each day, I read chapters from a different genre of Scripture, such as the law on Mondays and the gospels on Saturdays. The first reading of the year was the opening two chapters of Job in which this godly man greeted the devastating news about his children and possessions with these words: The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord (Job 1:21b). What a blessed reminder that no matter what happens to us for good or ill in 2015, we can praise our Sovereign Ruler. He indeed is perfectly good in all He does. Last Sunday, we sang a great song about Jobs declaration, Blessed Be Your Name by Matt and Beth Redman. Here is a video of Matt Redman singing it with the London Community Gospel Choir.
