I bet about about 20% of people in the UK have one of these in their homes. I often sit and stare at mine unable to actual hold it as to do that I would have to prise it out of my husbands hand. I dont even know what any of the coloured buttons do as Ive never advanced that far with it, usually being limited to a quick minute to turn the station over when my hubby is so bored with TV he falls asleep. The main technology used in home remote controls is infrared (IR) light. The signal between a remote control handset and the device it controls consists of pulses of infrared light, which is invisible to the human eye.
