I bet not many people know that pilot pays between £70.000 and £150.000 to qualify as a pilot. This does not include food or accommodation . They are then often asked to pay a type rating that us about £25.000. Some pilots after this can not get jobs and the only hope is line training which basically means you go to work for an airline without pay without accommodation without meals , having to pay for uniform and for this lovely experience you have to pay the airline anything between £40.000 and £80.000. .,,.,,,,,,,, bet the airlines dont print that on your flight ticket. The other fantastic thing about being a pilot in the uk is that the airlines give jobs to foreign pilots while uk pilots sit around with no job, but if I apply to some other countries the local government will not hire me unless Im a local . ......
