I bought The Guardian today and I am angry with coverage they gave Tony Benn sad passing. Two pages by Michael White, an article by Gary Younge, and small editorial. Really? When Thatcher died they had an 18 page pullout, days of coverage, and another multi-page pull out the day after the funeral. In the Out Of The Wilderness - Diaries 1963-67 his entry on 5/11/1963 is about him getting Tony Crosslands column in the paper. He said about this I dont write well, dread deadlines and expose myself enormously by the necessity to say something. (pg.74) The man contributed to the paper for 51 years and this is send off they give him. This is before you consider the 10,000 of readers who was attracted to a paper like the Guardian because of Benns politics in 1980s!!!
