I bought a lbs of corned beef for dinner from jbs deli but im returning it tomorrow because they cut it with the grain. that place is the poorest excuse for a deli. I never write yelp reviews but I decided I would. This is it..... Calling JBs an authentic Jewish deli is akin to calling Olive Garden an authentic Italian restaurant. Its a very sub par deli. I just got home with a pound of extra lean corned beef and they cut it with the grain instead of against. Its such a rookie mistake and Im going back to return it tomorrow. Its awful. Their selection is super limited.... no lox spread... no smoked salmon.... no mandel bread. I live so close to there and so want it to be decent but theres no way around the fact that its just not. Im typically not a know it all kind of guy but the people on here that claim its good obviously just dont know what a good Jewish deli is. Go to Fannies in Lincolnwood, Mannies downtown, Maxs in Higland Park, the Bagel in Skokie or Chicago. Those are authentic Jewish delis. JBs is basically the same as the deli counter at your super market.
