I bought a new Corvette in October of 1966, and paid $8,100 for it... Today a Vette at the same trim level will cost over $85,000. I was making $2.55 an hour when minimum wage was $0.75 an hour or $1,530 a year. Between the low taxes and the low cost of housing, insurance and $0.27 per gallon fuel, I had that car paid off in six months, but not at minimum wage. I think those facts make this graphic pretty much a lie, Dutch Van Wagner ... Wages have not gone up times 10,000 if you just use the car as the standard, but housing has gone up by times 100 and fuel has gone up times ten... That being said, my wages HAVE gone up times ten, but the watering down of the value of a dollar by the Fed is what has created the disparity, not the rich getting richer like the Liberals would have you believe.
