I bought this Scrabble related mug for my girlfriend as part of a raft of Valentines Day gifts, earrings, chocolates, roses etc. The M signifies her first initial. In case you are not familiar with the game, the 3 is the mark for an M in the game. On the inside of the mug it has a little square from a Scrabble board with Triple Word Score written on it. I found this mildly amusing given the context. She never uses the mug.
