I call this one Colors it is done I hope you like it.. I pledge of allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands... I dont know about you but a tear builds up in my eye when I say that It reminds me of when I was a kid in this great country of ours A time when we played barefoot in the park Until the street lights came on without fear It reminds me of our bicentennial in 1976 when our country was proud of our 200 year old birthday. When I served earning 3 honorable discharges that hang on my wall to remind me hey you were lucky that your here to see them. It reminds me of the men and woman who have died defending that flag all over the world From 1776 to now in 2014 Black yellow white and brown a gunshot, was their last sound From the Buffalo soldiers to Navajo Indian code talkers and the 442nd infantry of Asian soldiers Shoulder to shoulder and Sailor and soldiers.. We fought for our flag and our country and still do today I saw colors alright all you had do was look around to see that sight Army greens and Navy blues thats what I saw then and today that is what I see now too...one nation under God indivisible. Christian, Catholic, Muslims, and Jews, Buddhist, Atheist and Wiccan too.. We saw nothing of religion that was your right to choose all I saw was Americans fighting for me and dying for you So the next time that you choose your sides because you all are so uptight, Remember Someone died out on that field just so you can have that right, the bickering both back and forth has really got to end, for only not the grown up sake but the messages that we send, Our kids now watch and listen, to all the hate we spew and soak up everything they see and now they follow though, From Michael Brown to Dillon Taylor shot while unarmed this has got to raise a red flag up and cause us all alarm, Indivisible with liberty and justice for all... - Richard M Knittle Jr
