I came across a Gambian activist who recognized Reyot Alemu from the picture I was hanging on my chest while taking pictures of their protest at the hotel next to the White House where their uninvited dictator president, Yahya Jammeh, was hiding the entire day scared to come out and face them. She would not stop saying good things about Reyot and she knows every detail of her situation. She even wrote about Reyot on Amnesty International and other institutions website. How re-assuring it was for me to hear that there are people at every corner of the world who deeply care about other human beings not confined to their tribes, ethnicity, or nationality, but humanity. Here is a small video I took while she was taking about our Beloved Reyot Alemu. My apologies to the quality of the video and the background voice from the protesters.
