Although I am extremely exhausted, I want to express my gratitude - TopicsExpress

Although I am extremely exhausted, I want to express my gratitude to the participants in last nights show I did at Chapel of St. John the Divine in Tompkins Cove, New York, including George Potanovic and Joanne Gamsby Potanovic, Gene Guerrero, all the other people who helped identify, find, or otherwise retrieve things imperative to the show. To have a listening audience truly there for the experience, willing to open ears AND heart, IS the gift of gratitude. and as I think about what I tried to express last night in the show, I am aware that I am just as afraid as feeling/going through my darkness as anyone else. I wrote my sort of theme song, Bless These Blues, back in 94, and then proceeded to refute the information within.... Or rather, I really came to realize how difficult that is to do, to embrace ones darkness. We are a culture that teaches to avoid it at all costs. Heaven forbid we talk about it! ! That being said, I just re-covered this song that me and Alan Miller wrote 17 years ago. I am reminded of how this is the other side of the blues, if you will. The song is called Tears Dry, and its point is that if we can learn to just let ourselves be and feel, right here and now what is within, the best positive outcome can happen. (p.s. I tried to post this earlier on today and couldnt figure out why there was absolutely no reaction! Then I realized it was still in my phone...
