I came across an idea for a book that might satisfyingly deal with our unchristian faux fanatics (I dont think they believe their cant any more than you do but like to use it as a cudgel and to impress the morons that think theyre serious.) These same religious freak types once forced everyone to believe we lived on a Flat Earth without any regard to science. The current phonies couldnt pass themselves off as true believers if they didt defend that timeless fairy tale or the Divine Right of Kings or a geocentric universe or slavery? This pack of heretics picks and chooses from a Bible that inspired people who were a lot more faithful, holy and ignorant than themselves back in the day. Im sure if the whole group was sent back in time to the Spanish Inquisition they would summarily be burnt at the stake. Kind of a Connecticut Yankee in King Arthurs Court type of thing but a lot more fun. Lets say a passing alien who is bored on a 100,000 year trip wanted to give these fellows a genuine religious experience and whisks them away in a Rapture dumping them in Spain in 1500 and able to speak fluent Spanish just to see how it would all work out.
