I came across the obituary of another one of our classmates. Dean, Linda Ann Cartisano Rochester: Linda passed away peacefully on November 27, 2013, almost a year after her initial diagnosis of stage four pancreatic cancer. It was a good year, full of lifes little pleasures — the company of family, friends, food, nature, adventure. We were so grateful to have that time. Linda was born in Rochester in 1954, graduated from Greece Olympia HS in 1972 and put herself through college at SUNY Brockport, getting her Masters in Library Science at SUNY Geneseo. Shortly thereafter, she established her career as a librarian, first at the college at Brockport and for more than 25 years as law librarian and manager at the Rochester office of Nixon Peabody LLP. Research was both a talent and a passion and she found the work very satisfying. Lindas other passions included reading, hiking, traveling to places of natural beauty, Abyssinian cats, vegetarian cooking, Buddhism, meditation and yoga. Until cancer descended upon her, she was a bit of a health nut. She was an avid fan of the arts, music, movies and good television. She approached everything in her life with enthusiasm and verve. Linda is survived by her sister Judith Cartisano and her husband of 40 years, John. Linda kept a daily online journal of the last year of her life. That journal can be found at: caringbridge.org/visit/lindadean/journal A memorial service and reception in honor of Lindas life will be held Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the First Unitarian Church on Winton Road in Rochester. All are welcome. Lindas favorite charities include Farm Sanctuary, Blazing Wisdom Institute, and Dongyu Gatsal Ling Nunnery. Published in Rochester Democrat And Chronicle on Jan. 26, 2014
