II) Ambit- The scope, extent or bounds of something. III) Staunch- Loyal and committed in attitude. IV) Hegemony- Leadership or dominance esp. by one country or social group. V) Stifle- Make unable to brethe properly; suffocate. VI) Buoyed- Keep (someone or something) afloat. VII) Prelude- An action or event serving as an introduction to something more important. VIII) Legions- A unit of 3,000-6,000 men in the ancient Roman Army. IX) Divisive- Tending to cause disagreement or hostility between people. X) Unflappable- Having or showing calmness in a crisis.
