I can not believe how lucky I have been the last 30+ years to have been a part of the Metropolitan Opera. The opportunity to sit in 8x10 dressing room with Placido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti watching them interact like brothers. To watch James Morris carry Hildegard Beherns as Wotan places Brunhilde on the rock to sleep until she can be awoken by Siegfried on Thursday nights. To have worked with Alfredo Krauss, Paul Plishka, Charlie Anthony who treated me like a son. This has been more than a job, you can’t work 60-70 hours a week and not grow to care for the people you see give their all night after night. And to be amazed that these amazing singers can stand there and roar over a hundred world class musicians in the orchestra pit! Bill Malloy Head of the Metropolitan Opera Wardrobe Department
