I can understand the economics. But on a social level, Im sad it has to come to this. Sports, especially soccer in Singapore, is a wonderful unifier. The people regardless of race, the young and the old, the rich and the poor can share in a common experience. The agony of defeat and ecstasy of victory. I remember the roar of the kopitiam, the endless teh pengs I drank and most of all the company of friends and strangers...for that moment, united under a banner, united before a TV screen. All this would be lost. Its useless to say that only the last 4 matches will be screened. You just merely showed and validate that soccer is only a game which the priviledged can afford to watch. I wish you could do more. You could but you wouldnt.
