President Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton have been labeled incompetent many times. Now, it looks like that incompetence may have directly led to the deaths of four brave Americans. Fresh details have been released in the investigation of the Benghazi scandal. That city in Libya is where a United States ambassador and three other Americans were killed on Sept. 11, 2012. According to Fox News, newly uncovered documents show that security at the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi was in complete disarray before the attack — and the Obama administration did not take sufficient steps to fix the problem. In a series of previously unpublished emails, it was revealed that the State Department was using a third-party contractor for the vital security at the mission. This isn’t particularly uncommon. However, the contractor in Benghazi was in a squabble with local security, and may not have even had the proper license necessary to work in Libya. On Sept. 11 — just hours before the attack — State Department personnel sent an email that called the security situation an “emergency.” That message also described the administration’s incompetent management of security. “The two partners in this joint venture have been in dispute for some time. We received a letter yesterday from the Libyan partner stating that the two partners have dissolved their relationship,” the email stated. In other words, the State Department clearly knew that there was a major security problem for days or even weeks before the attack, yet they didn’t correct the situation. “The other side of the partnership, Blue Mountain Group UK runs all operations in Benghazi,” the email continued. “The dissolution of the partnership leaves BMG without a security license to operate in Libya.” The messages reveal a pattern of incompetence and “amateur hour” mismanagement by the administration. “These documents show the situation in terms of security was toxic on September 11, 2012,” said Tom Fitton, the president of Judicial Watch. “The State Department didn’t know what to do about security, all this was happening literally hours before the attack,” he said. Hillary Clinton, of course, was the secretary of state at the time, and directly in charge of the State Department. She and Obama are ultimately responsible for ensuring the security of American ambassadors around the world, yet they were unable to manage a fairly straightforward guard post in Libya. There is also evidence that the State Department shrugged off repeated requests for extra security for the mission. In Hillary Clinton’s famous words, “What difference does it make?” The answer, of course, is four American lives.
