I cant tell you what a blessing tonights service was. All the testimonies were so great. The kids were funny, but they were serious when they needed to be. And the puppets... oh my gosh. I had no idea what talent we have. Thank you, Lord, for sending the Keys here. Donna, you should be (and Im sure you are) so proud. I would like to see the puppets more often. And I think the church needs to work on building them a nice stage. It was a blessing to know that we had many of those kids in our SS class many years ago. I hope Steve and I had at least a small part of making them who they are today. With God leading the way, of course. This trip reminded me of when I was a kid. I went to Regency Park Baptist and we had a puppet ministry. It was so much fun. And yes, I have been on many mission trips. One, we went to Houston and we were (downtown) in the worst area of town! This was also during my Spring Break when I was about 15. We had lots and lots of roaches in the mission we were staying at and the area of town was so bad that gang members would stand outside the mission at night and throw rocks at the building and yell things at us (girls). We had to have the Houston Police come to the mission at night and escort the girls, if they had to go from one building to the other. We had a main building where we ate, assembled, and had Bible Studies and activities with the kids. The boys slept upstairs in that bldg. So at night, the police had to escort us girls to our building where we slept. During the day, we would just make sure the guys were with us. We (girls) could never be outside by ourselves. One girl wandered off one day (she was from another church and she didnt take the warnings very seriously). Well, she was attacked by a bunch of boys and nearly gang raped. One of our sponsors saw what was going on and went there to stop it. That mission trip was an experience. We did puppets there and basically the same thing you all did last week. So tonight I kept having flashbacks of that trip. :) Sorry to ramble on, but I am so proud of our kids, and Isaac and Jenny!! Great job!! Great service. I hope someone will upload the slide show from tonight onto this page. I had kindof a hard time seeing some of it. ♥
