I certainly agree that planting a garden is a patriotic act. This graphic mentions President Thomas Jefferson. Hes an agricultural hero of mine, but hes not alone. Many of our Founding Fathers were adamant that the citizens of our country should protect their right to farm their land and provide for their families. I love to read about the agricultural history of our nation. It never ceases to amaze me that men the likes of George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and more wanted to be remembered as farmers instead of statesmen or presidents. Each of them longed to spend time on their farms and found great comfort in returning to their farm after years spent serving their country. Im doing my best to keep their revolution going. In fact, Im headed down to the farmhouse root cellar right now to water our heirloom seedlings. As I check on them, Ill be thinking about this graphic and our nations rich agricultural history. Im proud to play a small part in this revolution. Whos with me?
