Trunk or Treat, a Halloween event sponsored by the Hernando Chamber of Commerce took place Saturday, October 18 on the historic courthouse square. There were approximately 1,000 people who gathered to share in the fun. Many businesses and organizations gave away candy and goodies to the kids and there tons of activities for the little ones. Hernando Excel By 5 had a booth and Town Hall meeting to answer questions about the Excel By 5 program and signed up parents with children ages birth to 5 to receive information on upcoming events. The First Regional Library is a partner of Excel By 5 and gave away 400 books to children of all ages.
