I certainly never want my friends and loved ones to get sick but when they do I want them to feel free to call me especially when hospitalization occurs. Nursing was and always will be my passion. When I accompany them to the hospital the blessing is indeed mine. Not only are old nursing skills challenged I get first hand exposure to new trends and practices in the field. Not all of which I consider good but there truly are many that are. After recommending insertion of an NGT (tube through the nose down to the stomach) I was impressed with the new tubes. Needless to say my friend felt immediate relief. I pray it is Gods will that I never work again but I have to admit it was somewhat joyful obtaining that little bit of knowledge. Not to say anything bad about any hospital my advise to you is if a loved one goes into the hospital for anything serious pack a bag and prepare to stay with them. Nuff-Said.
