I condemn #Bhagavad_Gita as national book. Personally I know that bhagavad gita is a exceptionally good book. But exceptionally good cant be the only criteria to became a national book. Its like making Rabindranath Tagore as the Icon of a Film festival or a science festival. It will showcase only a very very good part of India ---- But not all of it... We have our #Constitution_Of_India which has the best criterion to be the national book. And by default #Constitution_Of_India is our national book ... because it defines what Indian means and who we are and also the definition of India and the aim of us: WE, THE PEOPLE OF INDIA, having solemnly resolved to constitute India into a SOVEREIGN SOCIALIST SECULAR DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC and to secure to all its citizens: JUSTICE, social, economic and political; LIBERTY of thought, expression, belief, faith and worship; EQUALITY of status and of opportunity; and to promote among them all FRATERNITY assuring the dignity of the individual and the unity and integrity of the Nation; IN OUR CONSTITUENT ASSEMBLY this twenty-sixth day of November, 1949, do HEREBY ADOPT, ENACT AND GIVE TO OURSELVES THIS CONSTITUTION.
