I congratulate President Jonathan for listening to the voice of wisdom today. His decision to empanel a Committe on National Conference is an act in defence of posterity. This action for me is best he has taken since his assumption of office. For once, I am impressed by President Jonathan. Exactly a week ago, I granted an interview on TV on the need for a Sovereign National Conference for this country. I had reccommended that the first step is for the president to inaugurate a committee on National Conference or Dialogue. While I admit that this conference is not the solution to all our myraids of problems, I am deeply persuaded that it will solve many of our problems. I call on President Jonathan to give the committee a free hand to operate. Interest, sentiments and political expediency must not erode this noble national assignment. We are ever ready to proffer our own solutions regarding modalities of this conference.
