I consider Bennett Cerf the lovable scamp of WML: you cant help but like him, in spite of his terrible puns, his occasional boorishness, and his sometimes cringe-worthy wolfishness around pretty young contestants. But while Cerf sometimes skirts around the edge of good taste, he never completely falls over the cliff -- and its clear that his colleagues adore him, and think hes harmless and charming. Also, especially given the context of the times, when the concept of a bromance was unheard of, and any display of overt affection between two men eyebrow raising, one of the nicest and most heartwarming recurring motifs on WML is the relationship between Bennett Cerf and John Daly. Their badinage is often hysterically funny; their respect, admiration, and actual affection for one another is palpable.
