If you looked up the definition of a “GOOD DOG”; you would most likely see TONY’s picture. TONY is just about as good as they come – he loves everyone he meets – people, dogs and cats! He’s estimated to be about 4 or 5 and is already neutered. He’s fully potty trained – he has never, ever messed in his kennel. TONY loves to be by your side and would rather sit on the bench next to you then on the ground, we’ve gotten into the habit of grabbing a blanket for him to sit on when we take him out! He’s strong, but walks well on a leash (although he can be a bit stubborn if you take him back too early) – but mostly TONY just wants to be by your side. He gives sad eyes when he has to go back into his kennel and allows you to gently “nudge” his backside to encourage him in. He lights up a room with his smile and surprises you with his playful manner. He likes other dogs, and to our surprise he really loves to play! A dog of similar size would be the best. He loves children, and gets very excited when he sees them, pulling towards them and sometimes jumps up for a kiss, so we would suggest older children who wouldn’t be knocked down by mistake. You see, TONY may weigh 61 pounds, but he thinks he’s a lap dog. He’s literally one of the MOST adoptable dogs at the shelter – and we would love to see him get a home for the holidays. We love our TONY!
