I could be very wrong about this, but it seems to me that much of the talk about social justice serves as an effective distraction from any discussion about actual justice. Are we flitting around the fringes of the matter and avoiding the heart of the issues? Or is a pursuit of social justice an effective use of the churchs time and resources? I stole this definition of social justice, or justice exercised within a society: Social justice is the view that everyone deserves equal economic, political and social rights and opportunities. Heres a definition of actual justice: Conformity to moral rightness in action or attitude; righteousness; The upholding of what is just, especially fair treatment and due reward in accordance with honor, standards, or law. Is justice possible in our society? How can we see true, biblical justice established within our nation? Should we?
