I could be wrong on the dates but if i recall correctly it was Lyndon Johnson who declared the War on Poverty in 1964 after succeeding JFK.. If my dates are accurate that war has been going on for forty years.. So far it has been a lost cause with more poor people every decade it seems.. Strange since the government has been throwing money at it since it started with no success.. Go to the cities - look around.. The polite politically correct term is inner city but the vast majority of Americans call it the ghetto.. It is easy to see that throwing money has not worked - maybe it is time for a really radical approach - like public service (work) and actual education not what is passing for education not common core.. It is time to be proactive instead of politically correct and soft ...
