I could not be happier than to see my old teacher, LUIGI, getting so much attention and so many awards lately - its about time! He had a profound effect on my life when I was a scholarship dancer at Lynnette Schislas studio in Indianapolis, studying his technique. When I would go to NYC for holiday/study trips in the late 70s I always studied with him and he encouraged me to move to NYC. Youre cute - youll do well, he would say ;-) I could not be happier than to be able to give back in my new film, Broadway: BEYOND the Golden Age, that opens in 2015. Heres a few minutes from the chapter about him in the film. Hes almost 90 and still teaching and overseeing classes at his studio.
