I couldnt agree on a single figure for todays Black History Hero - TopicsExpress

I couldnt agree on a single figure for todays Black History Hero as I honestly dont know enough about the subject to give credit to just one man. But during my investigations I realized that there were many important men and women of colour who contributed to one of historys greatest uprisings, The Haitian Revolution, which ran for 12 years against the French, Spanish and British armies, before Haiti was given independence. I have to hold my hands up and admit my ignorance in not knowing much about their struggle and realizing my mis-education growing up in England. Their struggle is actually our struggle so today I am saddened by the brutality towards my people back in those days and still today. This Black History project has been a journey to self so as I write this I have a tear in my eye as the enormity of the injustice dawns upon me. Many people in the West still enjoy the fruits of slavery. Basically put cheap labour equals more profit and free labour equals even more profits so somewhere across the world there are people being persecuted and held down by corporations to suit the lifestyles of the first world. Toussaint Louverture, Jean-Jacques Dessalines and the Jamaican healer Dutty Boukman are the names I will creadit for the Haitian Revolution for today. Please post some Hatian music please, as I know very little accept the Fugees. Have a good day. Magnus x https://youtube/watch?v=Sqh1h8SEcEc
