I debated on doing this so soon, but Ive been thinking about it a lot and I think its time to announce that provided everything works the way I want it too, Im going to run for the THE SALINE COUNTY BOARD. I realize this is a huge undertaking. I also realize that I will most definitely be the somewhat inexperienced rookie for the first few months, provided while Im elected to the office. However, I believe that it is time to begin integrating some Fresh Blood into the mix. Im not trying to offend, nor am I saying a complete overhaul, but lets face it...the majority of those on the current board arent going to be here in the next 20-30 years. If we want to bring the youth back to this County, if we want to give the youth incentive to stay and to shop here....we need to have input from the youth. This means we need a FRESH PERSPECTIVE. Im not exactly a Spring Chicken, but Im dedicated to the idea of bettering our County so those children 50 years from now will have something better to look forward to. Those who know me know Im a bit of a workaholic, but only with those things Im passionate about. Making this County a better place to live is on certainly that list. HERES WHAT I NEED FROM YOU: Although I feel like I have an adequate amount of signatures for my Ballot Petitions, I would like to get more. There are several reason why, but anyone who knows me knows that Im a GO BIG OR GO HOME kinda gal. I have 2 more weeks to obtain as many registered voter signatures as I can. Its best if youre a Democrat because that is my party affiliation, however, I believe (and I might be wrong with this) if youre registered and not voted in the last few elections you dont have to be a Declared Democrat meaning your signature is still a valid signature. I figure with as many local political friends as I have on here, someone will correct me if Im wrong. Heres the deal....if you want to sign it, ILL COME TO YOU.
