I debated whether or not to post but I think its important... After a lovely dinner with my family on my sisters last night in Sweden, I was pulled over by a drunk Swede in the restaurant who proceeded to ask me if I was from Somalia... and then he told me he was going to buy me a one way ticket back to my country ... Im honestly not upset... cause these things happen all the time (here included)... but I did think it was important to document... and to make it clear that the idea of some sort of European moral high ground is a myth... ignorance, intolerance, and racism are diseases that run rampant EVERYWHERE... its issues did not start and are not unique to the USA... we all have some healing to do... and acknowledging the problem is the first step... The recent Swedish elections have made this clear... Anyway again Im not upset... but just wanted to put it out there for the next conversation I have where someone tells me I am inserting my racial baggage onto situations with people who dont share my history... by the way... history is global... its a shared history... gnight fb friends ;)
