I detest fakes! Every business has them. I could write a book about some of the biggest fakes that I have ever known.....car salesman! The guys that look like bankers and laugh all the way to the bank when a customer gets high grossed. Amarillo has more than its fair share of fakes. Some, even criminal. Many of the most respected car dealerships in Amarillo have salesman that have been to prison for ripping off customers and/or lenders. Some have the fish symbol hanging on their shingles to proclaim their love for God, Jesus and anything that it takes to win a customers confidence and cuss like sailors when a customer is not inside the business. Not all, but many! Often, its a façade. Actually, more often than not. Many talk a victim into buying an extended warranty thats not worth the paper its written on. Its been my experience to stay away from a dealership or mom and pop operation that might be hesitate to provide you with a car fax or any kind of history on a particular vehicle...get out of there! If they sell a lot of bank repos....not a good sign! Let me say, theyre are a lot of good car salesman in Amarillo. Good people that love what they do. Love their families and simply go to work and do their best to ensure that the customers that they have get a good deal on a quality vehicle...at a fair price. Its a fierce and competitive game, car sales. Many salesmen could care less if they ever see a customer again. They just need that fix of selling someone a car, making the most money that they can off of someone and finding their next victim. The last time that I did any research, a car salesman was just behind a politician and lawyer as the most distrusted people in America. As Facebook friends to anyone who might read this: Do your research! Dont fall for the fancy clothes and big ole smile. Most car salesman could simply care less about you or what you bought. Its all about the money. If you buy a vehicle from many of Amarillos finest have you ever noticed how difficult that it is to get the salesman to even answer the telephone? That salesman is what I started this dissertation out with: A Fake! Good luck! Be smart! Do your research! Did I mention the good luck part?
