I did a lot of geneology on the Butlers back when the sites were free. I never finished it. I have notes and lists, but never quite got it all together. What I do know, in a few words, the Butlers have been here since the 1600s, the clan separated and half stayed in England, half to Ireland. the Butlers were not immigrants coming over through Ellis island. Like my family. They probably came over with the Mayflower. Daniel Butler was an original. Settled in Mass. and Conn. Our branch through grandpa Clark are from Wellsboro, Pa. His given name is Walton Clark Butler. His father died young and was not on the family tree. There is a bible on display at the historical society at Wellsboro, Matilda Butler. There is a cemetery there with a whole section of Butlers. All relatives. There is also a cemetery, Butler Cemetery, in Monson, Mass. Does any of the family have any more information we can add and finish this project?
